  2. Since the recent release of Acorn's new SCSI card (AKA31) we have received some very
  3. positive feedback to its compatibility. 
  4.  
  5. The SCSI User Guide gives guidelines for selecting suitable Common Command
  6. Set 4B (CCS4B) disc drives for use with the SCSI Expansion card. In
  7. addition, the following drives have been found to work satisfactorily with
  8. the SCSI Expansion card during normal use of SCSIFS :-

  37. PC Emulator 1.60 Upgrade

  40. Acorn has released a new version of the PC Emulator, version 1.6, which is
  41. easier to use and incorporates extra features.

  43. Easy entry and exit
  44.  
  45. The PC Emulator now runs from and returns to the RISC OS desktop, leaving
  46. all your current applications and data intact.

  48. Easy file exchange 
  49.  
  50. You can access DOS files directly from the RISC OS desktop, using the
  51. !MultiFS application provided.   This allows you to copy, delete and drag
  52. the DOS files as if they were RISC OS files.

  54. CD ROM support
  55.  
  56. The CD ROM support provided gives you access to standard PC CD-ROMs, which
  57. can be displayed in a window on the screen.

  59. Mouse driver

  61. The mouse driver enables you to use the mouse supplied with your RISC OS
  62. computer as if it were a Microsoft Bus mouse
  63.  
  64. Faster floating point operations
  65.  
  66. Emulation of the Intel 8087 maths co-processor increases the speed of
  67. floating point operations by a factor of 14.

  69. There are additional features for systems that have 2 MB of RAM or more:

  71. Multi-tasking

  73. If your system has 2 MB of memory or more, you can run the emulator in a
  74. RISC OS desktop window.   This enables you to run a DOS application (such as
  75. Lotus 1-2-3) in one window whilst running one or more RISC OS applications
  76. (such as Acorn DTP) in other windows,  simultaneously.

  78. Support for EGA graphics displays
  79.  
  80. If your system has 2 MB or more, you can make use use of the support for EGA
  81. graphics displays. You can select CGA, EGA or MDA display.   Partial support
  82. for VGA is provided, for software which accesses the video hardware directly
  83. (Windows 3.0 can be run on an Archimedes 540).
